Copyright law affects creators
Canadian creators work tirelessly to bring our stories to life, to enrich and elevate our lives and experiences, and to give us the fullest perspective of what it means to be Canadian.
Creators have mobilized across Canada to send a message to Ottawa that the federal government needs to amend the Copyright Act to restore fair compensation to creators and publishers for the copying of their works by the education sector.
To keep creating Canadian stories like the ones I write, the education sector needs to pay for the use of our work. RT & LIKE to support amending the Copyright Act. @JustinTrudeau @pablorodriguez @FP_Champagne @ValueCdnStories #IValueCdnStories #CreatorsCallingOnOttawa pic.twitter.com/nn6JM7fvM1

Writing a book is...heart & soul work. But royalties have declined 75% since the Copyright Act was amended (2012). The fed gov't CAN fix this & should. I'm standing w/my fellow 🇨🇦 creators urging for action.
